Bacteriostatic water is a flat $75. Here's what that money buys, what moves the number, and where the cheaper options quietly cut.
What the full panel includes
- Identity — retention time + UV character against a certified reference standard. The pass/fail question.
- Chromatographic purity (area %) — how much of the peptide material is the intended peptide vs related impurities.
- Net-peptide assay (mg/vial) — the actual milligrams in the vial, measured, not assumed from the label. The number purity alone can't give you.
- Chain of custody — your vial photographed at intake, the photo printed on the certificate.
- A verifiable certificate — sealed with a SHA-256 fingerprint any stranger can check at /verify, so it can't be quietly edited or reused.
What moves the price
Volume, downward: the tier that wins applies to the whole order — 1–4 vials at $150, 5–9 at $125, 10+ at $100. (Quirk worth knowing: a $75 bac water counts toward the tier, so adding one to a 4-vial order can lower the rate on everything.)
Blends, upward: each extra active in one vial adds +50% to that vial — a two-peptide blend is 1.5×, three peptides 2×. Every active gets its own identity, purity, and content row on one certificate, because a blend where one component is missing is precisely the thing worth catching.
Speed: standard turnaround is 10–12 business days from receipt, with certificates emailed per vial as they finish. Rush (about +50%, small batches) prioritizes your vials through every stage.
The cheap-testing checklist
When a price looks dramatically lower, one of these is usually missing — ask directly:
- Is identity confirmed against a certified reference standard, or is it purity-only?
- Is content reported in mg per vial, or does the label's claim just get repeated?
- Is my actual vial photographed and printed on the certificate?
- Can anyone verify the certificate independently, or is it just a PDF?
- Is the lab independent, or connected to a vendor?
